Have you ever wondered what is the nicest place to live in the UK? Well, according to The Sunday Times, it’s our very own Salisbury! Described as “a divinely attractive and welcoming place” Salisbury has beaten all comers to be voted overall winner in the newspaper’s “Best Places To Live guide 2019.” (https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/best-places-to-live-sunday-times-3qkwjnvrm)
The medieval cathedral city is commended for its beauty, historical and cultural interest and excellent shopping, but also its top quality schools, safety, air quality and community spirit.
Other regional winners are Bury St Edmunds, York, Dundee and The Isle of Dogs in London!
It’s by no means the first time Salisbury has been recognized, having been named among the top 10 cities in the world to visit by the Lonely Planet travel guide in 2015.
Just 1.5 hours by train from London Waterloo, and a short trip to Bath, the south coast and Stonehenge – Salisbury is also home to UKCE’s school for Young learners.
